Goals

Every day brings me closer to the day we're invited to travel to bring our daughter home.  With that in mind, I've been thinking about some of the goals I would like to work towards.  Dave Ramsey says the difference between a dream and a goal is having a plan.  Here are some of mine -- what goals do you have?

1)  Eat better -- specifically cutting out fried food (especially fries) and soda.

2) Have a meal plan -- I want to create a 30 day plan that I can use for meal preparation.  I have a funny quirk in that I have only a few meals that I cook over again.  I love tearing recipes out of magazines!  I think it drives Stu crazy because I'll cook something, we'll love it, and I'll never make it again.  I want to make a list of our top 30 meals and use that as a basis for a dinner calendar.

3) Finish some of my "to do" items.  Specifically in the crafting arena.  I have a whole box marked "Projects to Finish".  I want to empty that box by the time Lucy comes home.  Right now I'm working on a cross stitch needle case -- I'm halfway through!!

4) Simplify our home -- I want to declutter and have a garage sale to get rid of some of our excess.  The less "stuff" you have, the less you have to clean around!  Cleaning is not exactly at the top of my favorite things to do list, so simplifying is a good start.

That's a start to my list.  I'd love to hear what others are doing on the goal-setting front.
